We offer our programmes on a sliding scale. The scale lets those with more resources help hold a place for those with less, so these programmes can be available for people who would otherwise be priced out.
There is no proof of income required and no questions asked. We trust you to read the descriptions below and choose the tier that fits your circumstances honestly. Each programme lists its own Supporter, Sustainer, Supported and Scholarship prices, so you can simply choose your tier when you book.
Supporter: Choose this if you can pay it without much worry. Perhaps you own your home, have savings or investments, carry medical aid comfortably, travel or fly when you choose, and could absorb an unexpected R5,000 expense without losing sleep. Paying at this tier directly helps hold a place for someone with less.
Sustainer: Choose this if you meet your needs but without a big cushion. You may have steady income, some debt, or be building savings. You might live fairly close to your means, but you are not anxious about the basics like food, housing, school fees and transport. This is our standard price and reflects the true cost of the work.
Supported (limited places) Choose this if money is genuinely tight right now. You may be stretched to make this work, carrying real financial pressure, or having to be creative to attend. We hold a small number of these places on each programme, so please take one only if you truly need it.
Scholarship (R1,500) (by application) A small number of scholarship places are available to applicants from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. These are offered by application rather than self-selection. Please contact us to apply.
Each programme offers an early-bird rate for booking ahead, with a small increase after the early-bird date.
If you are joining us from outside the SADC region, please add R5,000 to your chosen tier. This reflects the differing economic realities between countries, and helps keep our local pricing accessible
If you pick a lower price when you could truthfully manage more, you take a place from someone who cannot. And if your circumstances are generous, paying at the Supporter tier keeps this work as accessible as possible. We are grateful for your honesty in both directions.
Our Sustainer and Supported prices are kept affordable thanks to a scholarship we receive from the Animas Valley Foundation. Without this support, these places would not be possible. We are deeply grateful to the Foundation for helping us keep this work accessible.
Our sliding scale is adapted from the Green Bottle Method by Alexis J. Cunningfolk (wortsandcunning.com/blog/sliding-scale).
To enroll in an Animas programme is to invite your soul on something like a date; it is to say "yes" to a potentially life-changing journey, a journey of initiation or of deepening into a soul infused life. It's not unusual for fear, resistance, or an apparent scheduling conflict to surface as the time of your programme nears. We believe that whatever arises is a part of your journey and is ripe with opportunity and meaning. Our cancellation policy is designed to support you in keeping your date and to support our staff and guides as they prepare for your programme.
A few notes of particular importance:
1. A 30% deposit is required to book your spot. Full payment is due 30 days prior to the start of a 5-day programme and 60 days prior to the start of a longer programme or Vision Quest.
2. If Animas/Soulcraft Africa cancels a programme due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, registered participants will receive a full refund.
3. Deposits for field programmes and programme fees for online immersions are non-refundable and
non-transferrable. If you cancel a programme for any reason, your deposit is forfeited and will be
considered a donation to Soulcraft Africa.
3. If notice of cancellation is received 30 days or less before the start of a 5 -day immersion or online
programme, all payment is forfeited.
4. These policies stand even if there is a waitlist for the programme and we are able to fill your spot
